In the aftermath of these events, concerns about law enforcement’s preparedness have intensified. Gary Moskowitz, a former New York police officer and tactics coach, shared his insights on the issue. Speaking with CGTN Global, Moskowitz emphasized that current police training is insufficient to address modern challenges.
“The problems of today are not being adequately addressed by our law enforcement agencies,” Moskowitz stated. “Officers are not receiving the training they need to effectively respond to emergencies like mass shootings.”
He highlighted the need for a standardized approach to police training across the United States. “There should be a minimum national standard for law enforcement training,” Moskowitz urged. “By improving the professional quality of our officers, we can enhance their ability to protect communities and respond to crises.”
