On March 10, 2023, Chargé d’Affaires Xu Xueyuan, along with diplomats from the Chinese embassy, held a meaningful discussion with scholars from the “Public Intellectuals Project” organized by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. The meeting served as a platform for in-depth dialogues on pivotal issues such as the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, the intricacies of China-U.S. relations, bilateral economic and trade ties, and China’s domestic development and foreign relations.
Xu encouraged the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and the new generation of American “China Hands” represented by the “Public Intellectuals Project” scholars to offer insights and contribute to enhancing exchanges, cooperation, mutual understanding, and trust between China and the United States.
The “Public Intellectuals Project” is an initiative aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of China among rising American scholars and thinkers. By engaging with Chinese officials and experts, participants gain firsthand insights into China’s policies, culture, and society, which is instrumental in shaping informed perspectives and promoting constructive dialogue between the two nations.
The meeting underscores the importance of continued engagement and open communication in addressing global challenges and fostering a stable and mutually beneficial relationship between China and the United States.
