Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has opened submissions for its inaugural international photography competition, offering creatives worldwide a chance to showcase the area's cultural richness and natural beauty through their lenses.
Capturing Authentic Perspectives
The Xinjiang International Photography Contest invites both amateur and professional photographers to submit documentary or landscape works taken after January 1, 2024. Organizers emphasize authenticity: AI-generated images are prohibited, while composite photos using third-party materials must be clearly labeled.
Competition Structure
- 150 finalists will be selected (80 documentary, 70 landscape)
- Top 5 entries (3 documentary, 2 landscape) receive 50,000 yuan ($7,009) each
- Submission deadline: December 1, 2025
The contest aims to highlight Xinjiang's diverse landscapes and cultural heritage while fostering global cultural exchange through visual storytelling.
