China Media Group (CMG) and Teledifusao de Macau (TDM) have solidified a landmark agreement to bring the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics to audiences in Macao SAR. The deal, signed on Sunday, grants TDM free access to CMG's programming for the Games, ensuring residents of Macao can watch live events and coverage across TDM's platforms, including TV channels, websites, and mobile apps.
This collaboration builds on a history of partnerships between the two broadcasters, including coverage of the Tokyo Olympics, Beijing Winter Olympics, Hangzhou Asian Games, and Paris Olympics. CMG's role as a rights-holding broadcaster for 2026 highlights its global media leadership—it remains the only organization worldwide producing the 8K broadcast signal for the event.
Innovation takes center stage in CMG's coverage plans, with AI integration and 8K ultra-high-definition broadcasting set to enhance viewer experiences. Notably, CMG will also produce the international public signal for short-track speed skating and figure skating, marking a first for the group.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, scheduled for February 6–22 in Italy, will showcase cutting-edge broadcasting technologies while strengthening cultural and technological ties between the Chinese mainland and Macao SAR.
