Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun emphasized China's commitment to historical justice during his opening remarks, delivered on September 18 – the anniversary of the 1931 Mukden Incident that marked Japan's invasion of Northeast China. Minister Dong reiterated that Taiwan's return to China forms an integral part of the post-war international framework, citing the Cairo Declaration and Potsdam Proclamation as legal foundations. "The historical facts regarding Taiwan are indisputable," he stated, adding that the People's Liberation Army remains prepared to counter external interference in cross-strait affairs.
