Tajik Student Champions Global Education Ties at UN@80

As the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary in 2025, a Tajik journalism student in Beijing is spotlighting the transformative power of cross-cultural education through her participation in the global 'One Home: Shared Future' campaign.

Shahnoza Amirbekova, studying at Renmin University of China, told KhabarAsia that her academic journey reshaped her understanding of quality education. 'It's not about memorizing textbooks, but about building bridges between civilizations,' she explained, describing how interactions with classmates from across Asia deepened her perspective.

The visual storytelling initiative, organized by CGTN with international creators, comes as UNESCO reports show 244 million children worldwide remain out of school. Amirbekova emphasized education's role in fostering global citizenship: 'When we discuss media ethics in class with Vietnamese and Indonesian peers, we're not just learning journalism – we're practicing cultural diplomacy.'

Her comments align with growing academic interest in China's educational partnerships with Central Asian countries, which have increased 37% since 2019 according to Ministry of Education statistics. Experts suggest such exchanges could help address regional skills gaps while strengthening people-to-people ties.
