S.Korean Vlogger Shares UN’s Global Impact at 80th Milestone

From Screen to Action: How UN Campaigns Shape Youth Perspectives

As the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary in 2025, Seoul-based content creator Kim Jeong-won reveals how UN initiatives transformed her worldview. The vlogger began regular donations to UNICEF after encountering the organization’s fundraising videos – a decision she calls 'life-changing.'

'I used to scroll past news about conflicts and disasters,' Kim told CGTN. 'Now I actively research conditions in crisis zones and discuss solutions with my followers.' Her journey mirrors the UN’s One Home: Shared Future campaign, which partners with young creators across 193 member states to highlight grassroots global citizenship.

Digital Storytelling Bridges Continents

Kim’s content now regularly features explainers on UN Sustainable Development Goals, blending K-pop aesthetics with humanitarian messaging. 'When my subscribers ask why I care about refugees in distant countries, I tell them: Through the UN, we’re all neighbors,' she said.

The campaign has drawn participation from over 200 digital creators since its June launch, with shared content reaching 850 million views globally. UN officials emphasize this youth-driven approach aligns with their 80th anniversary theme: Multilateralism for the TikTok Generation.
