Mongolian Youth Champions China-Mongolia Cooperation Through Education

Biligtsaikhan, a Mongolian international relations graduate from Tsinghua University, embodies the growing cultural and economic bridges between China and Mongolia. Her journey began at a 2018 summer school in Harbin, where she studied China's poverty alleviation policies that lifted 82 million rural residents out of poverty between 2013 and 2018. This experience shaped her academic focus and career aspirations.

As a member of Tsinghua's Student Association of the Belt and Road Initiative, Biligtsaikhan engaged with Chinese AI innovators and entrepreneurs, gaining firsthand insights into China's technological advancements. She now aims to strengthen her Mandarin proficiency to facilitate cross-border collaboration, particularly in sustainable development and digital innovation.

Her story highlights how educational exchanges and grassroots initiatives are fostering a new generation of leaders committed to regional cooperation. For Mongolia – which shares a 4,677km border with the Chinese mainland – such people-to-people connections could prove vital in addressing shared challenges like climate change and economic modernization.
