Chengdu World Games 2025 Unveils State-of-the-Art Media Hub

The 2025 Chengdu World Games took a major leap forward this week as its Main Media Center (MMC) officially opened, poised to become the operational nerve center for nearly 2,000 international journalists and broadcasters. CGTN Sports Scene's Zhu Mandan offered an exclusive first look at the facility designed to blend cutting-edge technology with Sichuan's cultural charm.

Spanning multiple floors, the MMC features dedicated workstations with high-speed connectivity, a 100-seat press conference hall, and an equipment storage system supporting 112 lockers for sensitive gear. A standout feature is the Media Lounge's robotic barista, programmed to craft lattes adorned with the Games' mascots: a giant panda and golden snub-nosed monkey.

"From the 4,300-square-meter International Broadcast Center to real-time results tracking in the Online News Center, we're creating a seamless experience for global storytelling," said a Chengdu organizing committee representative. The complex will operate 14 hours daily during the August 2025 event, with technical teams standing by for equipment maintenance.

Positioned as both workspace and cultural showcase, the MMC's design incorporates Sichuan opera mask motifs and bamboo-inspired architecture. Media representatives will have front-row access to press briefings featuring athlete delegates and International World Games Association officials.
