Iran Reopens Airspace as Ceasefire Holds with Israel

Iran has fully reopened its airspace following a 12-day conflict with Israel, lifting all remaining flight restrictions imposed during the hostilities, the Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) confirmed Saturday. The move marks a significant step toward regional stability and economic recovery, with Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport resuming 24-hour operations for the first time since mid-June.

The CAO stated that domestic and international flight schedules have returned to pre-conflict levels, enabling airlines and travel agencies to operate without time constraints. This development comes three weeks after the June 24 ceasefire, which halted Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian infrastructure.

"From now on, all airlines can once again offer 24-hour flight services," the CAO announcement emphasized, signaling restored confidence in aviation safety. The phased reopening began June 26, with full operational capacity achieved across most airports by July 17.

The conflict, triggered by Israeli strikes on June 13, had disrupted critical air routes connecting Asia to Europe and the Middle East. Analysts suggest the airspace normalization could ease supply chain pressures while boosting regional tourism and business travel.
