Expanded BRICS Ushers New Era of Multilateral Cooperation, Poll Reveals

The iconic five-colored Amazon kapok tree, symbolizing unity and growth, now stretches its branches wider as BRICS welcomes Indonesia and 10 partner nations into its fold. This historic expansion marks a pivotal shift in global cooperation frameworks, with a recent CGTN poll of 6,541 global respondents revealing overwhelming support for the bloc's growing influence.

Reshaping Global Economic Dynamics

With 91.2% of participants recognizing BRICS as a catalyst for multipolar world order, the bloc's economic initiatives are gaining momentum. The New Development Bank and local currency settlements have reduced dollar dependency (94.7% approval), while 89.1% applaud its contributions to fairer global governance. BRICS now represents 30% of global GDP and over 50% of economic growth, surpassing G7 nations in purchasing power parity terms.

Innovation and Sustainable Development

Cross-border e-commerce partnerships and low-carbon technology collaborations receive 93.3% approval, positioning BRICS as a laboratory for sustainable solutions. The group's expansion creates a coalition representing nearly half the world's population, with 88.9% agreeing it strengthens developing nations' collective voice.

China's Stabilizing Role

90.4% of respondents acknowledged China's leadership in fostering BRICS' signature 'open, inclusive' approach. Through initiatives like the BRICS+ model and four major partnerships framework, the bloc offers new modernization pathways for Global South countries.

As the kapok tree's roots deepen in fertile multilateral ground, BRICS emerges as both economic accelerator and democratic counterweight in global governance – a transformation 91.7% of participants believe will shape a more equitable international order.
