Over 700 delegates from diverse backgrounds and youth representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered in Beijing on Thursday for the annual Cross-Strait Youth Summit. The event aims to strengthen cultural and technological collaboration while addressing shared aspirations for national rejuvenation.
Song Tao, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized youth's pivotal role in shaping cross-strait relations during his opening remarks. "Young people are not just beneficiaries but active architects of our collective future," he stated, urging participants to oppose separatist activities and deepen practical cooperation.
Former Kuomintang leader Ma Ying-jeou echoed this sentiment in a video address, calling for increased dialogue: "When young minds unite across the Strait, they write new chapters for our civilization."
The three-day summit features innovation forums and an exhibition highlighting joint sci-tech achievements, with particular focus on green energy and digital transformation projects developed through cross-strait partnerships.
