Iran Condemns Israel Over Broadcast Headquarters Strike

Iran's state broadcaster has accused Israel of deliberately targeting its headquarters in Tehran during a live broadcast on June 16, escalating tensions in the region. Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) President Payman Jebelli announced plans on June 25 to pursue legal action against Israel, calling the attack a violation of press freedom and freedom of speech.

The strike caused significant structural damage to the IRIB building, disrupting operations during a live program. Jebelli described the incident as part of a 'systematic campaign to silence independent media,' though Israel has not publicly claimed responsibility for the attack.

Analysts suggest the incident could further strain Middle East relations amid ongoing regional disputes. The IRIB's planned lawsuit would mark a rare legal challenge in international courts over wartime media protections.
